So let's get to today's challenge...
Our fabulous Design Team are showing you some ideas for a FAMILY theme this week - we hope you can all get some great inspiration here!...
LEIGH - I found these amazing whales hiding in the Winnie Starfish & Sandcastles collection - you really need to look around the store and in the bundles as there are literally 100's & 100's of extras hiding away in all the value bundles! I wanted to use this image with a twist so I've combined all 3 to make a cute whale family!
LEIGH - I also found this cute image and I couldn't resist using this to create a Thank You card I needed to make. This image is called Too Cute Turtle Love, again I combined two images together...
ROBERTA - This is a tag I made for my sister's birthday! To make it I used the Lavender digital stamp, printed it on cardboard suitable for use with alcohol markers, and then I colored it in. I punched the shape of a tag on both white card and kraft card; I uncorked the shape on kraft cardboard and glued it onto the white one. To create the background, I used Distress Oxides in shades: Seedless Preserves, Fossilized Amber, Tea Dye and Vintage Photo. Then I stamped the tag, again with Oxides, using the stamps of the Textures Galore Stamp Set 11 plank and then I stamped and embossed the Queen of Hearts stamp. Finally, with a stencil and white chalk, I made dots here and there.
ANITA – We were challenged to create a card for a family member using kraft paper in the project. This card is for my daughter who is competing in a Food Network Burger Challenge to come up with a new recipe. This Burger Digital Stamp was just perfect! I printed the image on Kraft paper and colored in with pencils. The sentiment on the flag is from Winnie Celebrations #2 Sentiment Set and the lovely green starred paper is from Opera Theme Paper Craft Download. Win or lose, I know my daughter will be great!
Kim Stewart - I created my project this week using wonderfully cute Darling Buds Primrose. I chose 3 papers from the equally adorable Winnie Let's Hang Out collection.
MARZENA - For the family theme I made a birthday card for my mother-in-law. Since my mother-in-law's birthday is coming up soon anyway, I made her a birthday card with the cute Winnie Sugar Sprinkles Digital Download. I used the colours pink to match the papers from the same collection.
I punched out the design paper in the background with theses die punches. The flowers are from the set Picknix 1. In The Garden Download Bundle I cut out with the plotter and have attached them to the card at a slight angle. The word Happy Birthday I also cut the word to size with the plotter from the Sentiments Winnie Celebrations 1. I created the word mother-in-law from the set Winnie Sugar Sprinkles Sentiments with the die punch from the set Posydoodles Dies. I added the pearls to the card with Nuvo Drops Vintage Rose.
MARZENA - I have also made a card for my mother with which I would like to thank her just like that. Here, too, I coloured the sweet Winnie in the same colours as the card for my mother-in-law, using Copics. The words Thank You from this sentiment, and Mum from the Winnie Sugar Sprinkles Sentiment set. I printed them directly onto the white paper and cut them out as a square. The design paper is from the set: Winnie Sugar Sprinkles Paper Heaven. I kept the background in green and stamped it with the stamp from this stamp set. I also stamped the hearts in pale pink.
Annette - I'm sharing my Father's Day card featuring Boo the kitty (which I've mirrored, so he's facing to the right) and some softly spotty papers from Winnie Sugar Sprinkles 2 collection. My image is water-coloured using Ranger Distress Ink Reinkers.
Maritza - Hello my crafty friends ... for this week, our theme is: use Kraft. I made a mini gift bag for a family member and I have used a digital stamp that I printed on kraft paper and I have painted it with colored pencils. The digi stamp I used is Let's Go Winnie. I have embellished this bag with remnants of digital papers from various collections and I have made a fake stitch.
Maz - For my 'Kraft Card' project, everything is from the beautiful Rose Budd Download Collection. I subtly coloured Miss Charlotte using Copics and attached a parasol to her. Adding a little lace border anglais to the edges, to give it that shabby feel. 'To My Wife' sentiment is from Everlasting Sentiments Stamp Set.
Myriam - I have created a card for my aunt who will turn 60 in August. I positioned a picture of her into a frame from the Picknix Craft Bundle. The number ‘60’ is added twice to the digital stamp Gnometastic Birthday Surprise by using Microsoft Word. Just like I have added a Winnie Celebrations 3 birthday sentiment to the frame too.
Further, I have used embellishments from 3 different collections (which are in sale, check out the clearance section in the Polkadoodles shop!): cake is from Picknix Craft Bundle, the presents, balloon, champagne glasses & birds are from the Winston Deluxe Collection & the single white flower is from the Rose Budd Craft Collection. Background paper is from Winnie Sunshine Delights and for the sides I’ve used these Plain Distress Ink Papers.
Rose - Hello friends! How are you? For today's challenge I have created a Birthday card and a slim candle box using the digital image Bella Bear Daisy together with the digital designer papers Winnie Celebrations 3 & Lou the Teacher incorporated with beautiful sentiment from Winnie Sugar Sunshine for the card. I have used different set of designer papers for candle box Summer Breeze Papers. I coloured the image with my favourite medium Copic Markers.
