So let's see what the Design Team have been making this week...we asked them to show some inspiration for food and drink themes...
We are thrilled to introduce Betsy to our team of talented crafters this week - we love her work and hope you'll follow her blog and social media too for some GORGEOUS projects she's going to be sharing with us all!
Betsy - Hello everyone! Bringing a little sparkly goodness in the middle of winter! I've used the Butterfly Flower Pots to create this card. I printed it on thin (90lb) watercolor paper. I colored the images with Copic markers and then highlighted the lines within the imageswith glitter watercolor paint. I added little mirror gems here and there and diecut the panel with a die from my stash. I mounted the colored panel onto periwinkle glitter stock and then adhered to a white A2 size top folding note card. A perfect touch of sparkle for these cold gray days of February!
Copic colors:
- YG11, YG63, YG23, YG41, YG17, G02, G14,G94, W1, W3, W5, Y00, Y02, Y15, Y17, Y21, YR04,YR23, E15, E08, BV000, BV02, BV13, RV52,
- RV55, RV66, RV19
Candace - For today's challenge project, the theme is Spring Flowers, use grey, blue, lilac and green colors. I used the printable card kit, Flower Meadow, which comes with 5 different pattern papers, 4 sentiments and black & white and colored flower image. Was really quick to make this cute card!
KIM STEWART - Happy Digi Choosday! Spring flowers is our theme this week. I chose the
Perfect Peony digi for my Design Team project. I coloured two versions of the digi; one just a smidge smaller than the other so i could pop up the flower to give the image some depth. I coloured the digis with my Copic markers, and added some glitter glue for sparkle. My paper selections come from
Wanda Set 3 and also
Winnie Starfish and Sandcastles paper pack 10 - Have a crafty week!
Jennifer - Hi again crafty friend! For this weeks project, I've made a floral card that could be used for many occasions. I started by printing one of the flower clusters from Polkadoodles "Alcea Hollyhock Flowers" digital bundle. One great thing about digital stamps, is the fact that you can print in any size. I chose to make my image about 3½x5", and quickly cut it out with my cricut, using the 'print then cut' feature. I colored in my image using alcohol markers. I used a range of violet shades to give the flowers lots of depth, and stuck with traditional greens for the buds and foliage. I also added some clear and yellow starburst glitter pens to the flower centers, to add some shimmer and shine.
Now I needed something to add my focal point to... I printed a beautiful blue pattern paper that was included in the "Alcea Hollyhock Flowers" bundle, but I needed something to bring focus back to the flowers. So i cut an oval and a scalloped frame out of white cardstock to layer everything. I still needed a sentiment, so I used my cricut again, to write "today is special because YOU are in it". Which is a sentiment from the "
Gnome for Spring" digital sentiments.
Now I can assemble everything. I decided on a light Grey A2 cardbase to help the scalloped frame pop, and it matches the sentiment. I used a tape runner to adhere down the scalloped frame, then the blue pattern paper, and then the oval. A bit of liquid glue attached the alcea image, and I popped up the sentiment with some tiny foam dots. I finished it off with a few iridescent flatback pearls to add a little extra something, and help fill any empty space.
This card isn't in my usual "cutesy" style, but I'm really happy with how it came out. I think the sentiment makes this card good for birthdays, valentines, mothers day, just because, and more. It's a great one for the stash... I hope you like it as much as I do. And I hope you get to have some crafty fun today. Have a creative day! ♥️Jennifer S. @pueen_queen
