Candace - For today's challenge project, the theme is February Birthday - Amethyst, use puurple and diamond shape. I created this February Birthday card using the image Pisces Digital Stamp and Zodiac Paper Pack. I used a diamond shape die cut to cut out the pattern papers and purple cardstock.
Jane – My diamond shaped card is to celebrate my mum’s birthday, and as her birth stone is amethyst our DT theme this week was perfect. I have watercoloured the beautiful FLOWER MEADOW digi deal and added the ‘Mum’ from the WINNIE SUGAR SPRINKLES QUOTES KIT and the ‘Birthday Wishes’ from the WANDA SENTIMENT BUNDLE.
KIM STEWART -For our Design Team Project this week it was using my Favourite colour purple. Yippee. I bet you think I'm going to use Winnie since i love her so much eh? HA! fooled you, not this time. I chose Serenity Fairy Earthstar for my card front. I love her wispy hair and dress. I printed her out quite big so she fills up most of the card, which i typically do 6" X 6". I added some diamond AB jewels to the card front, and Diamond glitter glue to make her wings sparkle. A simple little birthday wishes tag that hides behind the image. My paper selections come from the Lilac Haze set. They fit perfectly with my purple/lilac fairy.
Martine Bruinings - A Darling Bud.... that is what i used this time. There are several of this gorgeous lady's. All with differend flowers. This is Marigold . I added some gorgeous flowers to it ... all in purple. Hope you like it!
Jennifer - Hello again crafty friend! I hope the new year has been good for you so far. For my first project of the year, I made an Amethyst inspired birthday card with Polkadoodles, "FreddyFox" printable image. This was a very easy card to put together. I was able to print the "Freddy Fox" image and color him with alcohol markers to go with the amethyst aesthetic I was going for. I really love how he came out! After Freddy was finished, I needed a background panel to put him on. So I used my cricut to design and cut an argyle inspired stencil. I used design space to create the 1st stencil layer, which is just a 6x6in. panel, with a bunch of diamonds in a checkerboard pattern. Then I designed the 2nd stencil layer by making another 6x6 panel with diagonal stripes. After cutting both stencils, and Freddy, I ink blended the argyle pattern on 80lb white cardstock. I used distress inks 'shaded lilac' & 'wilted violet' for the diamonds, and 'twisted citron' & 'mowed lawn for the strips. After cutting out the sentiment, it was time to assemble everything. I trimmed the argyle panel down to 4x5¼, and matted it onto an A2 panel of light purple cardstock. Then I popped Freddy up with some foam tape and stuck him onto the card. I ended up putting the sentiment onto a shadow layer, that was cut from the same light purple cardstock. I popped up the sentiment with more foam tape, and the card is finished! I really enjoy making projects with Polkadoodles digital stamps. I hope I've inspired you to try something new this year! Have a creative day! Jennifer S @pueen_queen
Samantha Pfrimmer - It’s time for another Digi Chooseday Challenge and the design team was asked to use the color purple with a diamond shape. For my make, I started with the Watercolour Flower Stem digi . This flower was so lovely I wanted it to be the main feature of my card design. I also selected a pattern paper from the Noodle Panda Set 2 digital paper collection, opting for an indigo paper with a subtle floral diamond design. Once I started Copic-coloring my main image I thought it would be nice to add a little paper piecing detail. I ran my printed pattern paper back through the printer with the flower and shaded a few petals in gray. I next fussy cut my petals and glued them to my floral image that I had colored. I then matted the completed image also using the same pattern paper and finished with a sentiment selected from the Birthday Sentiments and Greetingsdigital stamp set. The final touch, a few diamond shaped embellishments.
Huge thanks to the design team for all their inspiration today - we hope we've given you lots of ideas to use in your own cards - remember! We LOVE you to copy the ideas we show you, it's what we're here for!
