THE WINNERS OF OUR LAST CHALLENGE ARE AT THE END OF THIS POST
---------------------------------------------
So let's get to today's challenge...
We are VERY excited to introduce some new team members today! A huge welcome to Anita, Roberta and Marzena - we love their work and we think you will too! Make sure you follow all our team on their blogs and social media - they're all amazing crafters!
Roberta - For my project, I used Meribelle Mermaid Pearl with paper from Winnie Starfish/Sandcastles. I used the Meribelle Mermaid Pearl digital stamp which I colored with Spectrum Noir alcohol markers.
For the background I used the distress Oxide in the shades Faded Jeans, Broken China, and Salvaged Patina; once dry I sprayed some water droplets, and then with a stencil, I created the waves of the sea with a glitter paste. In the foreground, I have included some designs cut from Winnie Starfish / Sandcastles digital papers on which I glued some small transparent microspheres.
Marzena - For the Smell of the Sea card, I chose the mermaid Meribelle and coloured her in with Copics. For the background, I first punched out a large circle and glued the border to the main card and made clouds with the stencil and Distress Ink Mermaid Lagoon. The saying is from the set, The life ring is here - I also coloured it with Copics and attached it with a hole punch to the tag from the set Winnie Starfish and Sandcastles with a white thread. I blended the tag with Distress Ink Mermaid Lagoon.
Annette (Netty's Cards) - I love living by the sea and try not to take it for granted. We're close enough to be able to walk to the harbourside for a meal or indulge in a gelato ice cream, followed by a meander along the promenade overlooking the bay before walking home again. My card for today's Polkadoodles Digi Choosday is based on this theme, featuring Bella Bear Milkshake on an ice cream shaped cardbase using Eden Papers. I achieved the criss-cross wafer look on the cone by using the score lines on my envelope maker and added faux doodled stitching around the papers. The image is watercoloured using Ranger Distress Ink Reinkers.
Danni - The design team was challenged to create a card with the theme of "Smell of the Sea". Nothing screams the sea to me like a pretty mermaid!
Myriam – When I think about the sea, I imagine an underwater scene with a mermaid and lots of colourful fish swimming happily around. Like the scene with the song 'Deep in the sea' from the Disney movie The Little Mermaid. I colored the cute digital stamp Lil Miss Mermaid with pencils and mounted it with foam pads. I’ve used papers from different collections: Paper Heaven 3, Winnie Sunshine Delights & Plain Distress ink papers. The sentiment is one from Winnie Starfish/Sandcastles Quotes.
Such mermazing projects this week! And welcome to the team, Anita, Roberta and Marzena!
