So let's see what the Design Team have been making...

Rachael - I made this while staring out at the snow from Storm Goretti. Mmmmm hot coffee! I started off die-cutting all the bits. I used a set called Sweet Moments die bundle available here and scalloped rectangles and tags die from here using a combination of plain, coloured and patterned card stock. I made up the coffee cups, then using picked raspberry distress ink, and heart wreath stencil I added detail onto the scalloped panel. I used the sentiment from the coffee set, and stuck it to vellum, before fussing cutting around the whole thing. I layered it all together using foam pads for dimension, and added stickles for sparkle. Back to the coffee and keeping warm!

Kathie - Welcome to Digi Choosday. I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas and New Year celebrations. Today, I am excited to share my latest card a Hot Chocolate easel card. For this project, I couldn’t resist using the adorable Polkadoodles DLPD 9507 "Hot Chocolate Sweet Freddy Fox with Macarons" image. The colour palette I selected brings a smile to my face, as they are bright and cheerful colours. This card is suitable for both feminine and masculine recipients. The sentiment on the card is from DL 9346, Alcea Hollyhocks (Thinking of You), just to give it that added touch. For the background and layers, I chose design papers from the DLPD8408 "Let’s Hang Out" collection. I love these colours some of my favourite. Freddy Fox started as a black and white image, I coloured him using Copic markers in shades 0, E000, E00, E08, E37, E50, E51, YG11, YG68, RV10, C01, BG000, BG13, BG49, R2, R32, G62. I also used a black gel pen to accentuate his nose and gloves. The embellishments include aqua satin ribbon, orange gems, two orange brads, and a tiny pompom on Freddy’s hat for a finishing touch. For the hot chocolate cup, I coloured it with Copics, then applied a coat of glossy accents. Once the glossy layer dried, I added white polka dots for the finishing touch.

Zel - For this project, Using my die cut machine, I cut 2 pieces of paper and stuck them together to make my tag thicker. I then went ahead and decorated the background by spraying distress oxide spray walnut stain and waited for it to dry before I sprayed another distress spray which is the forest moss. Once the paper was dry, I used a Stencil to add more volume to my tag. For my focal point, I printed Polar latte coffee Autumn Fall Fox and cut it using my brother scan and cut. I colored him using ohuhu halawa colored pencils. For the hat I colored it with Pale brown grey for his hair, I combined colors dark brown and tan. I used dark brown and bistro for the cinnamon to make them look like chocolate wafers , and dark brown ochre and dark brown for the cup. Then I cut the word "sweetheart" from Love Always printable Sentiments and stuck it in the middle of the cup to make it look like it is the label of the cup. I also print and cut the word "you are the sweetest " from the same set and stick it under my focal point. Ana - For our Hot Chocolate design team prompt, I made a simple gift pouch that’s perfect as a small giveaway, gift, or to have on hand for guests as part of a cozy hot chocolate or coffee bar. I used papers from the Lily Bug Ladybird Papers 4 collection and created the pouch with an envelope punch board. Instead of gluing it the usual way, I left the left side flap open rather than the top, making it easy to slip treats in and out. It fits hot chocolate and marshmallow packets perfectly. I finished it off with a rosette, ribbon, and the cute Teacup Lily Ladybug Ladybird digi stamp, coloured with alcohol markers. Quick, easy, and super cute to make! Wendy - The theme set for the DT this week was Hot Chocolate and it's definitely hot chocolate time here as the Winter temperatures have really kicked in - there is so much snow too on the mountains around us - definitely magical to see. I have seen loads of Hot Chocolate style cards lately and I decided I would recreate the style using digital images to show how versatile they can be. I started off by using the mug template, resizing it to create two mugs and then coloured these with green distress inks, fussy cutting out and adding a couple of die cut hearts to the mugs. For the whipped cream topping I printed out one of the cakes from the Coffee, Tea and Cake collection. I only wanted the whipped cream and cherry so used the Cherry Cream Cupcake image and then coloured with my promarkers before fussy cutting out. The sentiment is from the Gingerbread Cookie collection and I added this to the bottom of a paper from Gingerbread Holly collection before printing out, along with a piece check paper from the same collection. I decided to add a little stamped border around the edge of the paper, stamping in Versafine Clair ink using the Funky Borders stamps set, before layering with red card and adding to my card blank. The mugs were shaped with a pencil and then adhered to the card using 3D glue gel for dimension. To finish the card I added some sparkly gems and clear sparkle pen to the whipped cream and cherries. I wish you could see the sparkle as its so pretty but photos don't do it justice. Wishing you all a wonderful crafty week - love and hugs Wendy x

Thanks so much to the team for their GORGEOUS inspiration this week!
