Inserts and Envelopes
We all use inserts and love making envelopes so this week we challenged the team to try and do something different with them - either by making them into a mini book, using inserts as card fronts or really pushing the envelope and getting uber creative LOL (excuse the pun!)! The possibilities are endless!
You have until Tuesday 11th March at noon to enter this challenge and our random winner will get a free download bundle and our Top 3 will go in the cup to be selected as forthcoming guest designers with us!
Zoe - So this week I chose to use an envelope on the front of my card to meet our challenge. I used papers, envelope & image from the Dollie Goes East collection. The image 'Pray' can also be found in the download section. I coloured her with a mix of markers including the fabulous Graph It markers. I added the sentiment to the inside of the envelope to make it a feature.
Yvonne - I decided to focus on the inserts and envelopes section from the Dollie Daydream Girl Talk collection. I picked this insert because I liked the fact that there were elements I could decoupage and also, the sentiment 'Wish' had me immediately thinking of a wish list for clothes! I chose two of the digi stamps available within the collection, that of the evening gown and the mannequin. I coloured these with my Graph'It Markers. I couldn't resist glittering the bottom of the dress and then 'wish' was just shouting out for some glitter too, as was the white flower at the bottom that I decoupaged. I also printed out an envelope from the collection in mini size and added this as an embellishment along with some velvet ribbon, dazzler and pearls from my stash.
Debbi - Must admit this weeks challenge theme, to use envelopes and/or inserts in a different way, got my head thinking and I was bouncing about with so many ideas. But I finally settled on making a box. I used an envelope from the Dollie Daydream - Girl Talk to make the box and the decoration was made using an insert from the same collection.
Anjie - The main part of the card is made using an insert from the beautiful Cherryblossom Lane CD Rom Collection which is on offer at the moment for only £9.98! What a bargain! For the image and embellishments I have used the instant download Decoupage Sheet - Riding Along (Cherryblossom Lane), which has made a lovely 3D topper.
Scatty Jan I adore using the Cherryblossom Lane collection , it is probably one of my most used collections. I used an Insert for my card base and printed out a tiny envelope , fussy cut a few butterflies and popped on a sentiment - All were printed from the Cherryblossom Lane CD I then printed out Wesley also on the cd or available as a digi stamp - Coloured in with Graph'its and Promarkers xx
Susan This weeks challenge gave me a chance to make a tag album ,I just love making these little books. I have used mini envelopes ,digis and embellishments all from Dollie Daydream goes East collection. For the image on the front cover I used my Graph'It markers
lots more pictures of the album on my blog...
Sally - Hello again, its Digi Choosday! Today's challenge is to use inserts and envelopes. I chose one of the envelopes from the Dollie Daydream CD Rom and an insert to match the colour of the envelope. I printed the envelope and cut and scored it and then glued it. It will fit a 4 x 6" card.
I then printed out the insert to a 4 x 6" size and then made a tag using a 4 x 6" piece of white cardstock, then cut some brown cardstock and embossed it with a dotty folder, and adhered it to the white tag. I then matted and layered half of the insert with white and turquoise cardstock. Cut the other part of the insert to make a small tag and matted that on brown cardstock. Added a bow and printed off some flowers from the Build a flower section on the CD Rom and there you have it!
Jo- This week I wanted to make an envelope of sorts using only circles cut from Emma Canning animals and nature bundle backing papers. I diecut four circles, folded them in half and glued them together to form the envelope shape, then decorated the inside with a gorgeous sentiment that is part of this bundle, and sparkly gems and hearts.
What great projects - who knew you could do so much with a simple insert and envelope!
Don't forget you have until 11th March to enter and we will see you back here next Tuesday for a new challenge. Don't forget you also have time to enter the current Polkadoodles challenge in the sidebar too!
